One of my favourite sounds at this time of year is the chirring of the peeper frogs at night. Soon after we built our little pond the frogs started to show up. So it's true that 'if you build it they will come.'
Some seem to arrive from outer-space.
"This looks like a good place to stop for lunch"
"Do you think this is a good place to park?"
...and some arrive by boat. ( You can see my watercolour of this image in an earlier post on ponds.)

Yes, froggies are funny and a good indication of the health of our pond. Will get more shots as the summer goes on.
