I look for beauty and truth in everything. It's not always there of course but I try to find it or make it happen. I love people who make me laugh.

Bridget and Samantha

I know the internet is deluged with pictures of kittens and cats doing cute things and I'm going to show more of them in this post so if you've had enough already stop reading now. But if you're still into felines here are a few new photos of our Samantha and our Bridget.

First, here's a shot of them the day we brought them home, summer 2009.

Sam

Bridget

Some of you may remember these shots. So sweet!

Well, here they are now, all grown up and playing catch-and-release with this poor little fieldmouse.

It doesn't matter that mousie is already dead, likely from sheer terror.

One can still toss it around and pretend it's alive.

"But now I'm getting bored."

Time for a nap. So sweet.

A Day In the Life...Cuteness Alert!

Hey Bridget, what do you wanna do?

I dunno. I'm getting tired of watching for birds.

We could rearrange the studio...

...or maybe play this kitty classic...

...or we could play 'Linen Closet". Turn on your headlights.

Isn't it lunchtime?

Sorry, I can't wait.

I'm in the bag.

And now we must nap.

Bridget and Amanda's New Hardwood Flooring

"Here we are a few weeks ago, before the old wall-to-wall carpet was ripped up and the new hardwood flooring was installed. Little did we know what chaos was to come!"

"We didn't like it much when they banished us to the basement while all that noise was going on upstairs, thumping and vibrating and strange footsteps. But Fran and George did bring our food down and visited once in awhile so it wasn't too awful."

"Well, they did a pretty good job and now everything is back where it should be. We hate it when things are all over the place and we can't even find our favourite chair."

"We can really do a lot of sliding here. It's so cool!"

"It's been a lot of work and we're tired."

"Yes, we think it looks just fine. Now let us nap."

Having Kittens

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted anything so I apologize and offer the excuse that I've been away, which is true; I was in Ottawa last week for a reunion with two of my childhood friends. We had a wonderful time but I didn't get many good pics because of battery problems so I'm waiting for my friends to send theirs. If they turned out and with permission I'll post on that later. ( I know that many people post blogs for later publishing but I'm not that savvy.)

Anyway, when I got back I found that my dear husband George had been doing a little research on line and found us some Calico kittens. At first we'd decided not to get anything of the feline sort for a few months...but then we discussed it and realized we didn't want to wait. So on Sunday we drove to the kitten place where there were six little darlings waiting for a home. It was hard to choose but here are the two we came home with. For all you cat-lovers, please meet:

Bridget
Amanda
So now our living room has become a kitty playground. It's a good time of year to get this kind of entertainment when so much on TV is reruns and asinine dreck.
'I guess I'm supposed to bat this thing around. Hm-m, kinda fun.'
These guys have all the latest toys. How long before they get bored with them, I wonder?
Aw-w, look, they're chewing my good Italian sandals. Isn't that sweet!
Thank you George!
Now I'm happy again with our new babies.
...very happy...
...and they're very happy too.
