I look for beauty and truth in everything. It's not always there of course but I try to find it or make it happen. I love people who make me laugh.

In Dreams

There is so much we don't understand about dreams. Some dreams we have are like technicolour movies, following a seemingly logical story-line and fairly easy to recall and describe upon awakening. Other dreams are so wispy and surreal. Tiny bits of them flash back the next day but only as an essence; a shape, colour, emotion. I wonder if we'll ever be able to patch into our dreams and record them.

The best we can do is to try, in our waking state, to interpret what our other-consciousness state experiences. The above image is my attempt to describe the fleeting aspects of the mind. It's done in oil glazes and gold-leaf.

I love this piece. It has the look of the subconscious. I have a hard time remembering my dreams and interpreting them. I have thought of keeping a note pad on my night stand and writing them down but have not done that. Many times when I do remember they are so strange I can not understand how they have anything to do with my life. Yet dreaming has always intrigued me.

If you do keep a record of your dreams you will find them easier to recall, as if your subconscious knows it's being watched and is more willing to cooperate. You'll also find recurring themes.
